Being new to caravanning the thought of how and where to store our caravan was only a dim idea on the horizon of fun.
We had been bowling along with thoughts of happy days with a glass of red and the ‘barby’ sizzling away in the sunshine and it was now time to face the practicalities of where to store it.
Options
- The Driveway. Personally I never thought this was an option. Our house has a clause within the deeds preventing the storage of a caravan. I could ignore this? But that would mean risking upsetting the neighbours and the local authority to and in reality how secure is this option?
- Professional secure storage. Where would I find this? Plus how expensive would that be? I worried about this and rang a few places within the local area. Most of the calls highlighted that it was unlikely my expectation would be met.
I was then recommended to contact Tim @ Cockshades Farm Wybunbury. They offer secure storage to CaSSOA Gold standard. Tim proved not just to be a contact but the owner of the business who actually lives on site.
The site is set in the delightful Cheshire countryside, and was once a very large PYO fruit farm. The security includes CCTV, multiple locked gates, and as mentioned, people living onsite. Access to the site is via a long drive way and well away from the main road. However the site is not to far from the A500 and sits between Stoke on Trent, Crewe and Nantwich
The caravan storage is well away from the road towards the rear of the complex, which also houses livery stables and small business units. Caravan storage is discreetly hidden away behind the tall leylandii trees, thus offering some protection from winds as well as prying eyes. Opening hours are a dawn till dusk policy. However Tim did offer a safe solution for late arrivals.
The storage pitches are more than adequate and space for manoeuvrability is available. The site has a toilet and fresh water tap available for caravanners, who want to do those little jobs before hitting the road.
